What happened to Peak’s mom when he was three months old? Peak’s mom was free climbing a wall. She grabbed a handful of rotten rock. She fell, shattered her hip, and broke her back.
The climax of the story happens as Peak faces the greatest challenge when Peak has to decide weather to let Sun-Jo make it to the summit and get money for school or if he should take it for himself.

To me it just means that it’s the absolute best of the best on the medium, and “peak fiction” means that it’s one of the greatest stories from any medium.
PEAK (Promoting Emergence of Advanced Knowledge) is an evidence-based assessment and corresponding curriculum that combines the traditional ABA verbal behavior approach with the science of Derived Relational Responding, which teaches the ability to make relations between concepts.
There are 20 short chapters in all and each one begins with an illustration that relates to the message and a hand-lettered chapter number (I sort of love the chapter numbers!). We wanted each page of the book to feel special and included artwork, hand-lettered scriptures, and watercolor borders.

Why does Sun-jo end up having to dress like a porter and sleep in the porter camp? Since Captain Shek rarely goes to the porter camps, this will help protect Sun-jo from Shek’s discovery. It is his punishment for sneaking into Josh’s camp.
